Cramer owned this guy today, and he's absolutely right.  The S&P has been pretty much flat over the last 10 years.

Tea party dissident

This guy clearly has some big ones for stepping up and saying what he said.  He also speaks in complete facts.  I got a tax cut today, courtesy of President Obama.  And when he says that we had a surplus in 2000, that's true too.  The tea party is a republican convention that's too embarrassed to call itself by name.

A piece of football died today

John Madden retired today. After 30 years broadcasting NFL games.

He will be missed. To my generation, he is the face of football.

Obama on banning guns: No

To all the right wing nutjob/Glenn Beck fans:

President Obama is not going to take away our guns. Get back to reality, and start helping our country.

Firefox not the best?

I use Firefox on 2 of my 3 machines/operating systems:

Firefox/Windows XP
Safari/Mac OS X
Firefox/Ubuntu

Reading this makes me think about making a change, but its something I'm not likely to do, unless it is to Chrome, which is probably the safest for Windows.

On the tea parties

I've blasted spending enough over the last several years, but the current tea parties are a bit rediculous There is no viable alternative to our current policies (which I think have greatly improved under the Obama administration). We are a civilized country, and that requires some measure of government spending. We should not let our people die of preventable diseases, hunger, or a lack of appropriate shelter and safety.

We have the ability to effect great change, and yes, our tax money goes towards that. But I challenge anyone to come up with a better plan; none have.

The last WWII war criminal?

A man who is claimed to be a Nazi guard has been in and out of custody lately in the US.  He is 89 years old and appears to be in pretty poor health.  This is a complete waste of resources.  I don't know what is accomplished by putting an elderly man in jail, and possibly sending him to a country he hasn't lived in in decades.  Especially when he was tried in Israel, but the conviction was overturned.  

With the justice systems' limited resources, we need to focus on people who are current threats; not those who may have committed crimes 65 years ago.
