It's already been demonstrated that this fence is a complete waste of money, since it takes less than 2 minutes to either climb over, dig under, or cut through the fence.

Duncan Hunter had a double thick or something like it, kinda fence that worked in San Diego. One that's very thick and sturdy needs to be built and built deep and high. Also, mines and soldiers need to be on guard at/near the fence. In regards to the gov't taking land for the fence, that's ridiculous to force someone off their land unless they're paying them tons of money. If they want to sell, that's fine, but if not, forget the project. The gov't has no right to take land.
